Our Montessori Programs |

One Toddler Room – For 18 months – 3 years: The capacity is 12 children with ratio of staff to children 1:4. (Teachers are trained specially for Toddler level.) Children do not need to be toilet trained. The “cocoon” like atmosphere, means that the children can be completely independent and they are (e.g. they set the table for snack, get ready for nap, etc.)

One Elementary Class - For grades 1 – 5: Capacity is approximately 25 children with the ratio of 1:10 for staff to children. The staff is specially trained and certified at the Elementary Montessori level. The program is highly academic with advanced and integrated studies in geometry, history, biology, geography, zoology in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic. We emphasize research skills and independent learning, and the standardized California Achievement (Terra Nova) tests each spring prove the success of this approach. Prospective students must be tested to be eligible for this program. Summer academic tutoring is also recommended, if necessary. |

Special Notes: Since all classrooms are un-graded, placement is based not only on chronological age but also on the social and emotional needs of children. We offer mixed age groups to maximize the benefits of learning, to “master” concepts in an unhurried, non-competitive atmosphere and to provide a chance for all children to become leaders and “teachers”. |
